Trump Denies Liability for Sharing AI-Generated Taylor Swift Images: ‘I Didn’t Create Them’

Donald Trump has faced backlash for sharing AI-generated images falsely linking Taylor Swift to his campaign, sparking a debate about deepfakes and their dangers.

Taylor Swift may be the biggest pop star in the world, and her concerts do a lot to boost the economy. But can she change an entire election?  At least Donald Trump seems to believe that. This week, before Kamala Harris‘s big speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), her opponent and former US president shared a bunch of pictures that seemed to show Swift’s support for his campaign.

The only issue was that they were fabricated. Anyone with half a brain cell could discern that an AI image generator created the eerily realistic pictures. There were pictures of young women wearing clothes that said “Swifties for Trump,” with the message “I accept!” next to them.

Fans of Swift vowed to get back at Trump for falsely linking her to his presidential campaign, and they want her to sue him. Despite not yet adhering to the laws, Trump has already addressed the ensuing uproar. Fox News asked him, through Mediaite, if he was afraid Swift would sue him. He said that he wasn’t responsible for the pictures because he hadn’t taken them.

Trump said of the AI images, “I don’t know anything about them other than the fact that someone else made them.” He also said, “I didn’t make them.” Then he talked about how dangerous deepfakes are. Computers create these pictures and videos, depicting real people doing or saying things they never did.

“Someone came out.” “Oh, look at this,” they said. Other people made all of these up. Trump said, “AI is always very dangerous in that way.” “I’m experiencing the same situation.” They’re making me talk. I am well-versed in the field of AI, and I also have a keen interest in various other products. That exterior is a little risky.” For some reason, his fans call him the Teflon Don.

As Trump’s statement comes out, more people wonder if Swift will back Harris, just like she did in 2018 when she backed Democrats. There were many rumors that the singers of “Bad Blood” and Beyoncé would show up at the DNC, but they turned out to be false. Instead, there was a performance by Stevie Wonder. He’s still the goat, even though kids don’t like him as much.
