TikTok Tests New AI Smart Search Feature with ChatGPT

The Verge says that TikTok has begun testing a better search results page that uses generative AI to show a bunch of the best results for a query right at the top of the page. This is the business’s first step into the field of artificial intelligence.
Enhanced Search Experience
According to a TikTok page about this new feature, the videos are made with ChatGPT and are shown “when the algorithm finds them relevant to your search.
For example, if you type a question into the search bar, TikTok will use AI to show you results that are related to that question.
People who have used the feature, however, have said that it seems to have some problems because AI answers not all questions.
AI Smart Search Functionality
That part is called AI Smart Search. It answers search queries with ChatGPT. When TikTok’s algorithm thinks these answers are relevant to the search, it shows them.
Because this feature is still pretty new, mistakes like giving the wrong answers or information that isn’t relevant could happen.
The app that lets you share videos has been slowly adding more and more features. It began testing ways to add Google search results to its app last autumn.
