Saudi Arabia welcomes world’s top minds for international AI Olympiad
Saudi Arabia opens the International AI Olympiad in Riyadh, where teams from 25 countries will work together, and show off the latest AI developments.
The International AI Olympiad starts in Riyadh on sunday. Teams from 25 different countries are planning to compete.
The event starts today and goes through Thursday. It is being put together by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, UNESCO, the International Centre for AI Research and Ethics, and Slovenia’s International Research Centre on Artificial Intelligence.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the SDAIA hopes that the olympiad will be a place where AI competitions can happen and where ability can be found and developed.
The event will give scientists and fans from all over the world a chance to fight, share ideas, improve their skills, and learn about the newest developments in the field, according to the SPA.
Over the past five weeks, the SDAIA has been getting ready for the event by having a series of virtual lectures on AI. The goal was to qualify international teams for the competition and give students from different countries the chance to learn more about the field. The classes talked about things like how AI affects society and how to work with data.
