Samsung to Bring AI-Powered Live Translate to WhatsApp Calls

Samsung wants to add its Galaxy AI Live Translate tool to WhatsApp calls. This will let Samsung apps and gadgets use AI to translate between languages.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 models, which came out last year to improve smartphone skills, gave us a sneak peek at its amazing new AI features. One of these cool features was the Live Translate tool, which let you instantly translate between different languages.

The tool was built to work with Samsung apps and devices, but support for third-party apps has always been planned.

But it looks like WhatsApp is the first third-party app to get this function. The story says that the company is ready to add the Live Translate tool that uses AI to WhatsApp.

It’s still not clear when the feature will be added to the well-known chat app, though. Samsung had earlier said that Live Translate features would be added to other apps, but they didn’t name any specific apps.

Sources say that the company that makes smartphones hasn’t said for sure which apps will be included when the new feature is released.

It is expected that all popular VoIP calling apps, like WhatsApp, Google Meet, Facebook Messenger, Viber, and Telegram, will be part of the spread.

This year, Samsung released Galaxy AI, a set of features that use artificial intelligence. Google’s Gemini core models back it up. The Galaxy AI has new tools for changing video, text, and images that use generative AI. It will soon have a Live Translate feature on WhatsApp talks.

Integration with Samsung Buds and Software Updates

When you’re on a VoIP call or sending a text message, you can use this tool to translate between 13 languages without using your hands. Audio readings can be done quickly with the Live Translate tool’s stand-alone interpreter feature. Samsung’s texts and calls already have the tool built in.

Reports say that the Live Translate tool will be built into Samsung’s Buds line, which includes the Galaxy Buds 2, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and Galaxy Buds FE. Once downloaded and paired with an S24 device, the function should be available on the buds after a firmware update.

It’s still not clear if the buds have these changes, though. After some time, the latest One UI 6.1 software update has brought Live Translate and other Galaxy AI features to older Samsung phones.
