Safran Invests €220M to Buy AI Firm Preligens, Enhancing Defense AI
Safran spends €220M to buy the AI company Preligens. Under its Electronics & Defense area, AI will be used to improve defense and aviation AI.
The French company Safran said on Monday that it had agreed to pay 220 million euros ($243.3 million) to buy the AI company Preligens.
The company Preligens, which focusses on AI for defense and aircraft, will now be known as Safran.AI and will be a part of Safran’s Electronics & Defense business area.

Safran said that it creates complicated algorithms and software that use commercial and government satellite images to automatically find and identify items of military interest.
