Perplexity AI’s new feature transforms your searches into shareable pages

AI-powered tools like Perplexity Pages are revolutionizing content creation by enabling users to create informative and visually appealing web pages with simple prompts. In the future, these tools will be available to a larger number of people.

Many AI-focused tools now offer summaries of web pages written by AI. For some of these tools, the next step is to make clear, well-organized web pages for your search queries. In some of its Arc Search apps, the Arc browser does some of this. Apple is rumored to be releasing its smart summary feature for websites and articles soon. Perplexity AI is the latest addition to this trend. Perplexity Pages, a unicorn app, assists users in creating visually appealing reports, articles, or guides.

In the library, both free and paid users can find the option to make a page. For the tool to start making a page, all they have to do is type in a prompt, like “Information about the Sahara Desert.” Users can choose whether the text is for a beginner, an advanced reader, or anyone. This affects the tone of the text.

According to Perplexity, its algorithms work to make an in-depth article with many sections. If you want, you can ask the AI tool to rewrite, format, or even get rid of certain parts. You can also add a section by telling the tool to write about a certain subtopic. Perpelixity also helps you find and add media, like pictures and videos that are relevant. You can publish any of these pages, and Google can also search them. Other users can obtain a link to these pages from you. They can also ask more questions about the subject. Plus, users can easily turn conversation threads into pages with a click of a button. Perplexity’s design chief, Henry Modisett, stated that the company aimed to leverage its core technology to facilitate easier sharing of Perplexity as a research tool. Modisett worked as a product designer for Quora for more than eight years, which is interesting.

“We saw that our users were already giving other people access to their search pages.” “So we wanted to make a format that looked better,” Modisett said. He also mentioned that while the tool takes a few minutes to complete the page, the AI engine immediately responds to the user’s query and generates the page. As a result, it was difficult for him as a designer to come up with animations that would make the wait time enjoyable for people.

Perplexity’s approach: Humans drive information gathering in AI content Era

There have been numerous news stories and discussions about how AI-generated content will transform domains such as blogging, journalism, and the web overall. Perpelixty sees this tool as a way to gather information instead of using AI to create content.

“We describe the feature in a way that lets users gather information. They determine the topic of the page and its structure. People, not just AI, make all these choices, correct? He said Modisett.

“People are putting a lot of their taste into it.” “I’d also like to think that not everyone can make a great page, so there is a very important human side to it about making choices and keeping things interesting,” he said. Perplexity doesn’t yet know how this will affect the rest of the web ecosystem. Modisett pointed out that pages have different sources that make them stand out, just like the Perplexity search results.

Starting, only a few users will be able to use the Perplexity Pages feature. Eventually, the company plans to make it available to all users. Users can only create pages on the web, but everyone can see them both on the web and their phones.
