OpenAI’s Latest AI Project ‘Strawberry’ Unveiled: Report
OpenAI is working on a new AI model called “Strawberry” to give AI tools more complicated, human-like reasoning.
According to reports, OpenAI is working on a brand-new AI model called “Strawberry” that will help its AI tools become as smart as humans by using more complex thinking.
A July 12 report by Reuters said that Strawberry would be able to accurately and independently search the internet and do what OpenAI calls “deep research.” This would let it solve bigger, more complicated problems in the real world.
OpenAI representative said that this could mean making new software programmes or big science discoveries. Strawberry wants to do this by doing a lot of “post-training” research on OpenAI’s current AI models to make them respond more like people.
In January 2024, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said that “the most important areas of progress will be around reasoning ability.” Reuters said Strawberry is still being worked on and it’s not clear when it will be ready for the public.
Strawberry builds on OpenAI’s Q* project, which was announced in November and was hailed by experts in the field as a major technological advance that would enable the creation of much more powerful AI models.
Also earlier this month, tech giants Microsoft and Apple allegedly quit OpenAI’s board because regulators were looking more closely at the company. Recently, Altman’s company teamed up with Los Alamos National Laboratory, the place where the first nuclear bomb was made, to test how AI can be used in bioscience research.
