OpenAI Unlocks ChatGPT’s Search for All – No Account Required
OpenAI has made ChatGPT’s search feature available to everyone, so you no longer need to sign up to use it. Before, free users had to create accounts to use it.
OpenAI, a big US tech company focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), has declared that its ChatGPT search feature is now open to everyone, so users no longer need to sign up.
This feature became available for paid subscribers in November 2024. A month later, it became available for free users, but they still needed to sign up for accounts. The company stated that it would make features available to users who do not have accounts.
OpenAI’s main goal is to provide AI-based searches to everyone. This feature uses OpenAI’s latest GPT-4o model, allowing users to ask questions and get answers quickly through a web search.
According to Indian Express, the company wants to compete with and take over its rivals, including major search engines like Google and Bing.
Tech companies like Google and Bing have many rules about search terms and can give complicated answers.
ChatGPT Stands Out
Unlike others, ChatGPT can quickly understand what users are searching for and provide clear, easy-to-read answers.
Users can activate the ChatGPT feature by simply tapping the Search button beneath the text box. Just like Google, users can set ChatGPT Search as their default search engine in their preferred web browser.
ChatGPT Search has shared its sources to keep it transparent. Users can check the sources because there will be a clickable icon after sentences with outside information that they can use to verify the source.
Also, there is a list of sources at the end of each response to help explain the information better. OpenAI hasn’t set any limits on how much-unregistered users can use the ChatGPT search.
