NVIDIA Teams with Siam.AI Cloud to Build Thailand’s First Sovereign AI

NVIDIA and Siam.AI Cloud announce Thailand’s first sovereign AI project – New NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs and OpenThaiGPT.

NVIDIA, the global leader in AI and computing, has joined forces with Siam.AI Cloud to unveil Thailand’s first sovereign AI initiative. The announcement, made by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at the AI Vision event in Bangkok, marks a milestone in Thailand’s digital transformation journey.

Siam.AI Cloud, Thailand’s first NVIDIA Cloud Partner, has launched a state-of-the-art NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU system to power AI progress in the country. Next-generation H200 Tensor Core GPUs and GB200 Grace Hopper Superchips will also be used in the project. The goal is to build a strong AI system that fits the needs of the country.

”Sovereign AI” refers to the capability of the country to operate AI using its own data, technology, and knowledge. Huang drew attention to how critical this approach was by pointing out, “Thailand demonstrated understanding of how crucial it is to own the domestic AI infrastructure and data.” This is a huge moment for Siam With OpenThaiGPT, a large language model developed natively in Thailand AI Cloud has established itself as one of the pioneers in the AI business in Thailand.

Huang also highlighted the value of national data as a resource, adding, “The data of Thailand belongs to its people. This AI-driven intelligence will soon become one of the most valuable resources globally.”

Siam.AI Cloud is not only putting money into cutting-edge technology, but it is also working with top universities to improve Thailand’s AI. Ratanaphon Wongnapachant, CEO, said, “Our goal is more than just building infrastructure.” We are dedicated to building up Thailand’s independent AI skills so that the country can be a leader in this rapidly changing field.

With this agreement, Thailand will be one of only 20 countries in the world that can fully develop their own AI. This will allow the country’s digital and AI industries to grow at a rate that has never been seen before.
