NVIDIA H200 NVL Redefines AI and HPC Performance for Enterprise Servers
NVIDIA releases the H200 NVL GPU, which is based on the Hopper architecture and provides 1.7 times faster AI inference, 1.3 times better HPC performance, and the most advanced NVLink for corporate servers.
During the Supercomputing 2024 meeting, NVIDIA showed off the H200 NVL PCIe GPU, a hugely important addition to its Hopper architecture line. To meet the rising needs of AI and HPC workloads in businesses, the H200 NVL provides the best efficiency, scalability, and performance for data centers that use less power and cool their computers with ai
Scaling AI and HPC to New Heights
The H200 NVL is designed for business racks that are less than 20kW in power. It increases deployment flexibility by letting you set it up with anywhere from one to eight GPUs. This lets businesses use the technology they already have while increasing the density of computing. The H200 NVL changes the performance standard by being 1.7 times faster for large language model (LLM) inference and 1.3 times more performant for HPC workloads than the H100 NVL.
The GPU has 1.5 times more memory and 1.2 times more speed than its predecessor. This makes fine-tuning LLMs faster and uses less energy. The H200 NVL can communicate between GPUs seven times faster than PCIe Gen5, thanks to NVIDIA NVLink. This improves performance in AI and HPC apps.
Empowering Industries with AI
The H200 NVL is changing many fields around the world, from customer service chatbots to healthcare imaging and climate models. Its powers are being used to drive innovation by businesses like Dropbox and universities like the University of New Mexico. Ali Zafar, VP of Infrastructure at Dropbox, talked about how the GPU could improve AI services and give customers more value. Prof. Patrick Bridges of UNM, on the other hand, talked about how it could help biology and climate research move forward.
Broad Industry Support
The H200 NVL is being built into business systems by top OEMs like Dell, Lenovo, and HPE. NVIDIA is also releasing a full Enterprise Reference Architecture that will make it easy to connect H200 NVL systems on a large scale. From December on, platforms with GPUs will be available all over the world, making it easier for businesses to set up cutting-edge AI technology.
