Nvidia’s Impact on AI in Indonesia

Nvidia is currently one of the leaders in AI space due to its GPUs used across the transportation domain and beyond. Sahabat-AI, being Indonesia’s first open-source big language model, requires training, and the company’s GPUs are particularly useful for that purpose. This was a collaboration of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) and PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia.

This project envisions seeing AI that is Utilities AI Enterprise developed using Nvidia with cultural suitability to healthcare and the local language. Nvidia GPUs AI cloud services have also enhanced Indonesia’s AI infrastructure where IOH has participated in introducing these services.

Through the employment of Nvidia AI Enterprise software in this project, the goal is to develop AI that is culturally sensitive for use in healthcare and has local language support. AI has also been strengthened in Indonesia through the provision of AI cloud services initiated by IOH using Nvidia GPUs.

Huang further mentioned that Indonesia has been ready and willing to cooperate, which is in line with Nvidia’s principle of building an AI for all. The Sahabat-AI is a critical move in the direction of integrating Artificial Intelligence with culturally familiar strategies. It proves that Indonesia is concerned with digital freedom and wants to be ready to compete internationally.

Indonesia’s AI journey will speed up with Nvidia’s help, thanks to partnerships between universities, startups, and business leaders. This will strengthen Indonesia’s position as a rising star in the world of AI.
