Microsoft Launches AI-Powered Design App similar to Canva on iOS and Android
The Microsoft Designer app, which is like Canva but powered by AI, is now available for iOS, Android, and Windows. It has creative tools and AI features for making different digital designs, and it works with Microsoft apps like Word and PowerPoint.
Microsoft announced on Wednesday that the AI-powered Designer app, previously in preview, is now available to all iOS and Android users.
The app works like Canva, allowing users to create stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and other things by texting them to follow.
You can now use Designer on the web in more than 80 languages. It’s also available as a free app for phones and Windows.
The app’s “prompt templates” aim to spark your creativity immediately. Try out different template styles and descriptions to customize them. You can also share templates with other people to build on each other’s ideas.
With text prompts, you can make more than just stickers. You can make emojis, clip art, wallpapers, monograms, and avatars.
You can also change how images appear in Designer with AI. You can upload a selfie, pick from several styles, and add any other information you’d like to see to change the look of the picture. The “replace background” feature in Designer will soon allow you to replace images with text.
Microsoft Integrates Copilot into Word and PowerPoint
Microsoft announced that Copilot will integrate the service into apps such as Word and PowerPoint, concurrently with the standalone release of the Designer app.
People who subscribe to Copilot Pro can add images and designs to their work. Shortly, Word users will be able to make a banner for their document based on what’s in it.
In its announcement on Wednesday, Microsoft stated that Designer will work better with Microsoft Photos on Windows 11.
AI now allows for photo editing within the Photos app. You can now delete objects, remove backgrounds, and have the app automatically crop photos right inside.
