Microsoft Launches AI Innovation Hub in Lisbon with Accenture & Avanade
Microsoft has established a new AI innovation centre in Lisbon, Portugal, in collaboration with Accenture, Avanade, and Unicorn Factory Lisbon.
As part of a partnership deal with Accenture, Avanade, and Unicorn Factory Lisbon, Microsoft, a multinational corporation and technology company based in the US, has opened a new artificial intelligence (AI) innovation center in Lisbon, Portugal.
The center is in the Alvalade neighborhood of Lisbon, in the AI hub of Unicorn Factory. The center has a room set up for conferences and an open space for coming up with ideas.
Microsoft says that the goal of this new location is to “accelerate the adoption of AI by public and private companies across all sectors” and help Portugal achieve “sustainable growth through new digital innovation scenarios.”
The event spans 170 square meters and features three dedicated areas for in-depth work. Some of these are envisioning workshops, strategy meetings, and architecture design sessions.
These sessions will enable leaders in their respective fields to develop, plan, and implement AI solutions for their companies.
The general manager of Microsoft Portugal, Andrés Ortolá, said that the new center “can be a true catalyst for transformation, combining talent, ideas, and innovation, creating space for companies to lead, reinvent themselves, and grow in a business context that is becoming more and more dominated by digital transformation.”
Accenture and Microsoft Partnership
Accenture’s country managing director for Portugal, Manuela Vaz Soares, said that the partnership with Microsoft “marks the start of the next chapter in our plan to change the business landscape in Portugal.”
CEO of Unicorn Factory Libson Gil Azevedo said that the partnership with Microsoft “not only strengthens Lisbon as one of the most innovative cities but also shows the huge potential of the innovation districts we are building.” The new hub is part of a bigger plan to make “dedicated spaces in high-growth areas that will help the economy and the local ecosystem.”
