The project might end up costing $100 billion, according to a report from The Information.

The project that executives believe will bring the proposed Stargate supercomputer located in the United States to life will be financed by Microsoft.

The fifth phase of the supercomputer line will be called Stargate. About 2026 is when the fourth-phase supercomputer for OpenAI is anticipated to launch.

The high cost of building the supercomputer is attributed to supply constraints on high-performance GPUs, which are necessary for the creation of AI models.

As one of the biggest manufacturers of high-end chips at the moment, Nvidia finds it difficult to meet the rising demand.

The Blackwell B200, the most recent release from Nvidia, which can cost anywhere from $30,000 to $40,000, has led to an increase in the price of AI chips.
