Meta to Launch AI Chatbots with Celebrity Voices like Judi Dench, John Cena

Meta will show off its new augmented reality glasses and AI chatbots with sounds from famous people like John Cena and Judi Dench at its Connect event.

The company that owns Facebook, Meta Platforms, is going to say that it has signed contracts with celebrities like John Cena, Kristen Bell, and Judi Dench to give its Meta AI robot voices.

If you want to customize the voice of Meta’s ChatGPT-like digital assistant, you can pick from five celebrity voices, including those of Awkwafina, Keegan-Michael Key, and a few other voices. A source with knowledge of the business’s plans told reporters on Monday.

A source close to Facebook said that the huge social media company would announce the audio features at its annual Connect meeting, which starts on Wednesday..

Meta is also likely to show off the first version of its augmented reality glasses at Connect this year. The company will also talk about its plans for future hardware products, like the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which were the first product from the company to come with an audio version of the Meta AI chatbot.

According to the source, the famous voices will start to appear on Meta’s family of apps this week in the US and other English-speaking countries. These apps include Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Bloomberg was the first to report earlier this summer that Meta was talking to famous people about using their sounds in AI projects.
