Meta Sets Up Four ‘War Rooms’ to Evaluate DeepSeek’s AI Model

Meta has created four “war rooms” with engineers to evaluate DeepSeek’s AI model, as reported by Fortune, which referenced The Information.

According to Fortune, the US tech giant Meta has reportedly set up four “war rooms” with engineers to evaluate the AI model developed by Chinese startup DeepSeek, citing information from The Information.

According to reports, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is curious about how the company, which is funded by a Chinese hedge fund, was able to release an AI game changer that may already compete with its technology.

DeepSeek, an AI startup backed by hedge fund High-Flyer Capital Management, recently released R1, a version of its AI chatbot that it claims can perform as well as competing models like ChatGPT at a fraction of the cost.

According to The Information, a senior Meta AI director told colleagues that DeepSeek’s newest model could outperform even the next version of Meta’s Llama AI, which is set to be released early this year.
