Meta Plans AI-Enhanced Ray-Ban Glasses With Screen by 2025

Meta plans to update its $299 Ray-Ban smart glasses by 2025, adding a screen for AI notifications, says FT. Anonymous sources hint at new features.

There could be a new version of Meta’s new Ray-Ban smart glasses. The Financial Times said that Meta will update its Ray-Ban glasses and put them on the market in the second half of 2025. The Meta Ray-Ban glasses cost $299 right now. Look at what the update gives you.

The update will likely include a small screen that can show notifications and responses from Meta’s AI assistant. One important thing about the report is that it used anonymous sources to hint at these updates.

What modifications have these glasses undergone? Mark Zuckerberg has said that smart glasses will be the next big thing in computing. Meta also wants to spend billions of dollars on making glasses that add to reality.

What they want to do is add artificial intelligence (AI) and other advanced technologies to the wearer’s field of view. But, as of right now, Meta hasn’t said anything about the product launch.

Meta has also been working on its Orion augmented reality glasses as a way to look ahead. In September, Zuckerberg first showed off a prototype of Orion. He also said that the glasses were like a time machine. The glasses can project virtual things into your field of vision.

A Prototype for Future Tech

This implies that you can view notifications, participate in video calls, and utilize other computing capabilities. But the Orion glasses can still be used as a prototype by the people who are making new glasses.

Also, Meta’s Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Bosworth, said there is a next big step. What he said was, “The company’s Reality Labs division has big plans for the metaverse.”

He also said that the company is putting together AI glasses and experiences that use augmented reality. In addition, the glasses aim to demonstrate their superior hardware capabilities for incorporating AI features.
