Meta Launches Verified for WhatsApp Business and New AI Tools

Meta announced on Thursday that Verified is now being rolled out on the WhatsApp Business app in India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Colombia. It has also made new AI tools that can help businesses serve their customers better.

When a business has a “Verified” badge on Meta, it means that they have registered their information and are protected against impersonation. Last year, the company said it would soon start testing Meta Verified with small businesses that use the WhatsApp Business app. After that, it would be made available to all businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta, said at the Conversations event that Meta verified will make it easier for small businesses to build trust with their customers and make brands that customers will feel more comfortable reaching out to you.

We’re also adding voice calls to the WhatsApp business platform so that businesses can help their customers in more ways. This way, people can talk to the business directly about bigger purchases or more complicated questions that can’t be answered through chat, he said.

When it comes to the new AI tools, Meta will let businesses use AI in their chats with customers to help them and sell their products and services. The idea is to have AI act as an assistant in the WhatsApp Business app to help with things like making an ad for Facebook or Instagram that opens a WhatsApp conversation when clicked on or getting help through features like the catalogue or quick replies.

New Features for Businesses on WhatsApp

The company is also adding calling to the chat, so WhatsApp users can easily call bigger businesses with just one tap. Besides that, it has also added a feature that lets businesses send personalised messages to customers. Now they won’t have to write birthday wishes or holiday ads by hand, so it will be faster and easier for them to send personal messages.

Mark Zuckerberg said that the tech giant’s new, better delivery tools will help companies use its AI to send the right message to the right person on WhatsApp. He also said, “Our vision is not just to build a single AI assistant, but also to enable lots of different AIs that can serve different purposes, including for businesses. Any business should be able to quickly stand up an agent that can talk to your customers, provide support, and facilitate commerce.”
