Japan Launches AI-Powered System for Faster, Smarter Disaster Response
A new AI-powered system created by Hitachi in Japan uses high-altitude cameras to find and report disasters right away, which speeds up the response time when people are worried about earthquakes.
Japanese government officials have put in place a system powered by artificial intelligence (AI) that they hope will speed up the response time to tragedies like building collapses and fires.
A story from Tokyo-based Kyodo News on Tuesday said that the system, which was made by Hitachi Ltd., uses high-altitude cameras to automatically find fires and building collapses in real time.
As soon as it detects something, the system sends important information right away to the police, fire department, and Japan’s self-defence forces, which speeds up the reaction time.
Japan is still on high watch because of warnings of a possible mega earthquake, which is why this plan was made. To help the system work, high-resolution cameras have been put in the buildings of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and other places around the city.
