Google’s AI Can Now Hear and Identify Early Signs of Sickness

Google Develops AI to Detect Sickness by Analysing Sound Signals, the AI was trained with millions of audio records to recognize diseases like tuberculosis. This could have uses in smartphone-based healthcare.

The fact that Google and other companies are starting to use sound signals to spot early signs of disease may not come as a surprise after what you’ve already heard about AI.

Bloomberg says that Google taught its base AI model with 300 million recordings of sounds like coughs, sniffles, and laboured breathing in order to understand what a person with tuberculosis sounds like.

Salcit Technologies is an Indian company that is developing AI for lung healthcare. Now, it has teamed up with that company to put that technology into smartphones. This could help high-risk groups in places where healthcare is hard to get to.

The company has tried to digitize human abilities before. One company that is using AI to literally sniff out disease has also gotten money from its venture arm.
