Google is adding Magic Pixel features to older Pixel 7 and 6 models, giving them access to advanced photo editing tools that were only available on Pixel 8 models before. Users will only be able to save limited versions of their photos if they upgrade or sign up for Google One.

Google has said that the Magic Pixel feature will be coming to older Pixel 7 and Pixel 6 devices. Magic Pixel, Audio Magic Editor, and Video Boost were once only available on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the company’s newest top-of-the-line phones. Magic Pixel is a collection of tools for editing and improving photos. Users can move things around, delete parts of a picture, add realistic filters, and change the picture’s size.

Google talked about the Magic Editor in a blog post, saying, “This editor makes it easy to do complex photo edits with simple and intuitive actions, like moving your subject or changing the sky from grey to blue.” Now, all Pixel devices will be able to use Magic Editor.

Google’s New Media Saving Limits

For now, it looks like Google will limit how many times a user can save a picture or video. It should be able to handle 10 photos and videos per month. People who want to use this feature without limits must either buy a Pixel 8 series device or sign up for a Google One Plan with 2TB or more.

The new Magic Pixel feature is now available on some Pixel 6 and 7 devices. However, reports say that Google is still rolling out the new feature, so it may be a while before it appears on all devices.
