Getty Images has launched an updated generative AI model developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, which provides faster image generation, advanced editing tools, and increased user control, all while ensuring users’ legal and commercial safety.

Getty Images has released a new version of its generative AI services and tools, which they say will make big improvements in speed, quality, and accuracy. The company’s latest improvement should boost image generation speeds to about six seconds for four images, which is twice as fast as the old model.

NVIDIA assisted in the creation of this new model, utilizing their Edify model architecture, a component of NVIDIA Picasso. The updates to NVIDIA Edify make big changes to the speed and quality of output.

They also make it easier for users to see and follow prompts, make prompts last longer, improve 4K upscaling, and let you fine-tune models. “We continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible with responsible AI-generated imagery,” said Grant Farhall, Chief Product Officer of Getty Images, about the new developments.

With this updated model and the new features we’re releasing, our customers will have more chances to use AI, along with our amazing pre-shot content, to make their ideas come to life faster and in a way that is safe for business, thanks to Getty Images’ strong legal protections.

A few significant additions to the new model aim to enhance both the user experience and output. Some of these include the fastest generation speeds in the industry about six seconds, advanced 4K generation detail, support for longer prompts up to 250 words, and more control over output with advanced camera controls like shot type and depth of field.

Not only are these updates happening, but Getty Images is also adding AI editing tools. These features enable customers to modify both AI-generated images and pre-shot creative images.

In the editing tools, you can add or change elements, enlarge the canvas, or remove backgrounds with one click. Getty Images will soon add these features, which are already available on iStock. Farhall talked about how these new features will help people by saying, “The updated model and ongoing rollout of additional AI functionalities are designed to help customers across a broad range of industries.”

These improvements give creative people both professionals and hobbyists powerful tools to improve their work processes and make AI experiments safer and more useful.

The training source is an important part of this updated model. We have only trained the AI tools on the premium content-rich creative library at Getty Images.

This ensures that the generative AI services remain devoid of logos, trademarks, and other elements safeguarded by third-party intellectual property rights. Getty Images also promises to protect its users if they use their images for commercial purposes, which gives them even more peace of mind.

Furthermore, the company has added fine-tuning features that allow business clients to create unique models by adding their brand assets to Getty Images’ generative AI model.

The purpose of this feature is to provide enterprise clients with a customized and brand-specific experience. The release of this new model is part of Getty Images’ ongoing effort to push the limits of AI technology while still prioritizing legal and commercial safety.

The company wants to provide customers all over the world with powerful and complete content solutions through its many brands, such as iStock and Getty Images.
