Elon Musk Says xAI and Tesla Are Independent, May Collaborate in Future

Elon Musk says that Tesla and his startup xAI work on different things, but xAI has already helped Tesla, and the two could work together in the future if needed.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said that the company and his startup xAI are working on different issues, but that xAI has helped Tesla and that the two can work together if they need to.

Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas asked Musk about the relationship between Tesla and xAI at the end of the earnings call. He said that some investors didn’t understand the relationship and thought the two companies were competing.

“XAI is working on artificial general intelligence or artificial superintelligence,” Musk said. “Tesla is trying to make autonomous cars and autonomous robots, they are different problems,” Musk stated, emphasizing that each company stays in its lane. However, he did mention that they could collaborate if necessary.
