Elon Musk Refutes Claims of Tesla X.ai Revenue-Sharing Deal

Elon Musk denies rumors that Tesla and his AI startup, X.AI, have a deal to split profits. He also makes it clear that Tesla does not need to license X.AI’s technology for self-driving improvements.

Elon Musk has denied rumors that his AI startup, X.ai, is in talks with his electric car company, Tesla, about a revenue-sharing deal. The WSJ reported that Tesla intended to license AI models from X.AI to enhance its fully autonomous driving technology.

In exchange, Tesla would give the AI startup a cut of the money it made. The report stated that X.AI would assist with other Tesla projects, such as developing a voice assistant for its electric cars and developing software for Optimus, the humanoid robot.

When asked about the article, Musk replied on his social media site X, calling it “inaccurate.” Specifically, he made it clear that Tesla has gained useful information from talking with X.AI engineers, but the company does not need to license X.AI’s technology.

Musk made it clear that Tesla’s progress in self-driving cars does not need any extra licenses from X.AI, which is the opposite of what the report suggested.

The report also said that executives from X.AI had suggested that they should get an equal share of all of Tesla’s self-driving car sales. Musk, however, denied these claims.

Since it began operating last year, X.AI has been seen as a rival to AI companies such as Microsoft-backed OpenAI. This has made people worry that X.AI could take resources away from Tesla, making it harder for the car company to focus on its main goals.
