BT Boosts AI Implementation to Safeguard Business Customers Against Hacking Threats

As the number of cyberattacks on businesses rises, BT says it will rely more and more on artificial intelligence (AI) to find and stop hackers who are trying to harm its business customers.

Strengthening Cybersecurity with AI Innovations

The £10.5 billion group is working harder to grow its business of keeping customers safe from online thieves. It does this by using patented AI technology to look at attack data and help businesses protect their IT infrastructure.

Hackers try to get into British businesses all the time. Capita, British Airways , and Royal Mail were all well-known targets not long ago.It has 725 patents and patent applications in Europe, the US, and China. All of them are about AI.

BT Business’s CEO, Bas Burger, said, “We have all this data about when criminals try to attack, like what time of day it is and what kind of attack it is, and we have suppliers who help us with the data.” After we clean up all of our data, an AI programme goes through it.

Empowering Cyber Defense with Eagle-i Technology

Eagle-i, the name of the technology that came out in 2021, tells you how to set up firewalls so that they can protect you from certain types of attacks in the future.
BT uses AI to find issues in its network. It cuts down on repair times because problems can be found faster.Companies worry about picking the right technology and issues that could arise during implementation, according to Burger. Because technology changes so fast.

A recent study by BT of 2,000 business leaders found that 86% of company directors and executives see technology as a source of stress when their companies are trying to become more modern. According to the study, 88% of businesses are spending money on new technology this year to make them more productive and give them an edge over their competitors. Money spent on tech is up 31% year over year.

According to Burger, “Today, every business is a digital business.” “Everyone wants to use technology, and they’re putting more money into it…” However, this is scaring everyone.

BT is focusing more and more on using AI. Last year, the company said that technology would take over about 10,000 jobs as part of plans to cut its workforce by as many as 55,000 by 2030.

On Thursday, the company will release its annual results. Analysts expect underlying profits to be just below £8 billion.
