AI Tools Help China Parents Predict Unborn Babies’ Appearances
In China, AI tools are becoming more popular for guessing how unborn kids will look from ultrasound pictures, even though some people aren’t sure how accurate they are.
Using artificial intelligence (AI) to guess what their future child will look like has become popular in China.
The service says it can “predict your baby’s future face from their four-dimensional ultrasound image,” which is what it says on online shopping sites. It has become so popular that it spreads like wildfire.
A huge number of people have paid for this AI service. The South China Morning Post is owned by Alibaba, which also runs the biggest online store in China, Taobao. Prices range from 10 yuan (HK$10.74) to 30 yuan.
The providers say that AI can take more than one ultrasound picture and turn them into a picture of a baby’s face.
People who don’t agree with the idea say that it’s flawed and that the ultrasound scan doesn’t show the real face of the baby after birth because it’s made up of pictures from different cameras.
